The Foundation

We are a non-profit foundation and are financed by donations. The idea for the foundation originated at Kinderschloss Wendorf in 2021. The shareholder of Kinderschloss Wendorf GmbH (17219 Möllenhagen OT Wendorf, Schlossstraße 3) is the founder of the charitable foundation “Joya”.

Kinderschloss Wendorf, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany, is a residential youth welfare facility that cares for up to 52 children and young people at three locations in the Müritz region. It is one of the few purely privately run facilities in Germany. This concept describes the educational work in Medellin, the second largest city in Colombia (South America). It involves intensive socio-educational work on the streets and squares of Medellín, with the main focus on helping and supporting underage (pregnant) girls and mothers. The beneficiaries are accompanied on their way out of prostitution or saved from prostitution.

The main goal is to make the beneficiaries independent. Another goal is to provide financial support to existing foundations in Medellin that deal with the issue of helping children and/or other people in need of help.

Mission statement

Our work is based on the following view of humanity: people are unique creatures with incredible potential. We help those we support to discover and develop their potential. Together, we bring gems to light. Our view and our actions are fundamentally appreciative and hopeful. Punishment is not a socio-educational tool used by our foundation. The keywords of our actions are honesty, trust and forgiveness.

Legal basis

Mr. Lutz Rohlf is the founder of the foundation under Colombian law. The founding members also include Ms. Karen Meza, Karol Galviz and Albert Serna. The acting director is Mrs. Karen Meza. The donations are used in full for the promotion and administration of the foundation. The tax office AIPSN from Medellin looks after our foundation. Legal advice is provided by the lawyer Christoph Möller from Medellin. Our foundation account is managed by Bancolombia in Laureles Medellin.
