Management

Location and premises

Medellin is the second largest city in Colombia with more than 2.5 million inhabitants. Even though the metropolis is undergoing change, it is characterized in many places by crime, drugs and prostitution. Due to the size of the city and its enormous growth, especially in the poor neighborhoods that are cut off from social life, we focus on four important places in the city. The lively Botero square and the two central metro stations Prado metro station and Berrio metro station with their respective neighborhoods as well as the “party mile” Poblado are the places where we meet potential beneficiaries. A central office on the other side of the city serves as a safe meeting place for local employees. The location is not known to the sponsored people.

Staff

At the time of its establishment, the foundation has three full-time employees. In the long term, there are plans to increase the number of staff in line with the workload. The involvement of volunteers is also desired. In the medium term, staff should be able to speak German.

The acting director is appointed by the Supervisory Board. The acting director is authorized to issue instructions to the staff, draws up the duty rosters and determines the working hours and location. The acting director manages the foundation's finances.

In consultation with the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, a monthly budget is determined which is available to the foundation to fulfill its tasks. It may not be overdrawn. Loans may not be taken out. The budget must comply with legal requirements and must stand up to any audit by the financial authorities.
